These Popup Mesh Cages, which we just call "Popups", are great for butterfly rearing. They keep caterpillars and butterflies in---and predators out.

Popups fold to flatten for easy storage.

Some of the cages have five sides that are mesh while one side has a vinyl window. Others are completely mesh (no window).

We ship Popups to the 48 contiguous states in the U.S., not to Alaska and Hawaii.

Cage sizes are approximate, not exact.

Medium Plus, 15.5" X 15.5" X 24", White with green trim

This popup cage can be used as an enclosure for rearing caterpillars or as an enclosure for temporarily holding adult butterflies.
Just a little larger than the medium sized cage, this one is my (Rose Franklin's) favorite cage size. Like the other Popup Cages, the parasitoid-resistant mesh keeps the caterpillars in and the predators out.
One side of this cage has a clear plastic window. It can be used horizontally or vertically.

15" Square Popup, 15" X 15" X 15", Black

This popup cage can be used as an enclosure for rearing caterpillars or as an enclosure for temporarily holding adult butterflies.
Three inches larger than the small sized cage, this one provided more space for plants, caterpillars, or adult butterflies. Like the other Popup Cages, the parasitoid-resistant mesh keeps the caterpillars in and the predators out.
On this cage, all sides are parasite-resistant mesh (there is no clear vinyl window).

Mini Popup with Handle, 5.5" X 7"

This white parasitoid-resistant collapsible cage is great for bug collectors of all ages. The popup itself is 5.5" X 7" (not including the handle).

Black 13" X 17" Catch & Release Popup Cage

This popup cage can be used in the field for gathering butterflies, caterpillars, or other insects. It also works well for the mass release of butterflies. It does not work well for raising caterpillars since the only opening is on the top (where caterpillars usually go to pupate).
Like the other Popup Cages, the parasitoid-resistant mesh keeps the caterpillars in and the predators out.
This cage has both handles and a zipper on the top.

24" X 24" X 36" Large Popup Cage, Black

This popup cage can be used as an enclosure for rearing caterpillars or as an enclosure for temporarily holding adult butterflies.
Like the other Popup Cages, the parasitoid-resistant mesh keeps the caterpillars in and the predators out.
This Popup Cage has five sides with polyester mesh and one side with a clear plastic window. It can be used horizontally or vertically.
